My male neutered cat is spraying all over my house. I have tried drugs..that didn't work, I have tried placing tin foil in his favorite spray spots...he just found new ones. I have also tried giving him time out's when I catch him...no luck. He is given lots of love and attention by us as well...even though he is bad.
I don't know what to do and it is driving me crazy...I have to cover my furniture to prevent him form spraying on it, and I have had to close off parts of my home from him.
I should also mention that his brother died very suddenly and without warning two months ago. Since then the behavior has gotten worse and he is much more bold about it. He will spray right in front of us now. I even tried getting him a playmate because he and his brother used to chase esachother around the house playing...he hated the new cat. I am at a loss. Any suggestions...putting him down is not an option.

Re: spraying
Take him to the vet and have him checked for any urinary problems...this is the major cause of inappropriate spraying and urination. Have the vet do a thorough check, bloodwork and all. Then get some Nature's Miracle and thoroughly clean all the spots he has sprayed, this will get rid of the odor and help prevent future spraying. I know it's frustrating...but hang in there...
