My kitten died when it was being born

My cat had three kittens last night. The second one came about an hour and a half after the first. I didn't see it being born I came in right after while the mom was still trying to chew the umbilical cord. I knew it was dead right away its tongue was out and when we took it away from the mom we relized it's brain was coming out of the top of its head and the side of its head looked a little caved in.Do you think it may have been in the birth canal too long? The third came out fine about 20 min. after the second one.They are both doing fine and nursing good. I just wanted to know if anyone might know a reason that the second came out like that all I can think of is it was in there too long and it was getting squashed causing its brain to come out. It is so sad.I wish it could have made it.And her stomach was so big we always felt the babies move, I was surprised that she only had three.

My advice is to get this Mom cat to a vet with her babies as soon as possible. Since she had some problems and a stillborn kitten, she needs to be examined to make sure all the kittens are out, and the afterbirth has been expelled etc. and check over real good as well as the kittens.

Please make or have your parents make a vet appointment.

good iedea to get her checked cause there might be one more in there but from what yu describe, it sounds like the dead one was a hydrocephalic which is one of natures mistakes...but still goog to get her and them checked...
