Normal loss of whiskers?

Post by Cleo »

So far and from the ones I have found, my 3 year old Keeks has lost three whiskers. The last 2 were just a week apart. They are the larger, thick whiskers, root and all. Is this normal?

My 2 year old Molly has only lost one so far. I can tell the difference because one cat is black, the other white. I remember Traci telling me it was good luck but is it normal to loose them like that?

Thanks,
Cleo

it is normal and they will be replaced...they are imnbedded in a little tiny pool of blood which transmits the wiggle information to the nerbvous system so they can walk through small places...i think they just become to heavy and drop out but they shall return

I collect my kitty whiskers..I'm finding them all the time. I have a little ceramic chalice that I put them in when I find them because I too consider it good luck :D

Okay, thanks. I'm assured now it's a normal process. Hair, whiskers, fur, nails, teeth - no problem; as long as we hang onto our marbles we'll be fine!

Thanks,
