We have recently acquired a kitten. Some one dropped it off at our house. my questions are,
1. How can I gage the age of this kitten, He is relatively small.
2. I just noticed this morning, that he has blood in his feces, what exactly causes this, and what can I do about it, short of taking him to the vet.
3. How old should he be when we can get him fixed?
He is a very good kitten, and my boys love him to pieces, I just want to make sure that he is healthy.
BTW, he is an outdoor kitten, with a lot of room and places to go, for shelter, and warmth.
Thanks for any advice or answers.

As to your above statements, please get him seen at the vets as soon as possible, could be worms, parasites or other problem. He must have vaccinations and be tested for FELV and FIV.
Neutering is done between 2 and 6 months, some vets have different opinions, I believe in early spay and neuter.
Age can be judged by teeth.
Can you keep him inside where it is safe from elements, people, animals and poisons. Perhaps a patio area which is screened would be good.
Good luck to you.

Re: Kitten Questions
Thank-you for your input. I will call the vet today.
He will have access to the garage soon. But being inside is not an option.
