Re: Diabetic Cats

I'm not going to repeat this over and over, you people (or you as the same person) are not listening....the kitties need to be properly diagnosed before ANY treatment plan is approached. To date, it appears much needs to be done before even considering home care. That was my original point, my concern, and continues to be.

Whatever Howie chooses for his cats after a confirmed diagnosis--- concentrating on the kitty with IBD and getting an accurate assessment of the conditions of all three cats--- then he and his vet can discuss the options.

The problem- presumptively undiagnosed
The solution- proper assessment of each cat, confirmed diagnosis, form a treatment approach that is tailored to the needs of the individual cat

I don't have a problem with sharing experiences, but I do have a problem with recommendations that are based on individual cats and their health concerns. Howie can exercise his options concerning diet, costs, blood glucose monitoring at home, etc etc once the diagnosis is confirmed and that regulation if insulin (if needed) is established. Diabetes is not a condition in which owners should be taking into their own hands, nor forming their own dietary approach and other treatment.
