which food to feed?
which food to feed?
as i mentioned in a few other posts, i have an 11 month old neutered male, all-indoors kitty. his name is Linus. the way we currently feed him is by self-feeding Purina Kitten Chow (by self-feed, i mean that he always has dry food out for him to eat whenever he pleases) we used to give him Iams canned food as a treat, but he doesn't like it anymore. he also loves Pounce treats in the shake-up can, he gets about three of those a day. my question is, he will be one year old this September 11. i know that at the age of one, they should start eating cat food as opposed to kitten food. i am asking for suggestions on what brand/type to feed him. let me know what you think, thanks!
Re: which food to feed?
really your vet should be the one to guide you about the right food, as he is right there and hands on with your cat. When you do switch foods, do it very gradually over 2 weeks time or your kitten will experience stomach problems and diarrhea. Royal Canin makes good quality blends for each stage of a cats life. I highly recommend them.

I concur I feed Royal Canin to my 5 year old girl who has a sensitive stomach. Wellness is also excellent.
