Re: I'm so excited!
Well....Nemo was neutered today. The vet called a couple of hours ago to say everything went fine and that he is a fat, happy cat. Unfortunately, he tested a "light" positive again...So now I have to figure out what I'm going to do. I guess I was just so hopeful that he would test negative...

Re: Please help! Indoor cat turned outdoor cat is sick :(
I would stick with canned food, preferably getting some A/D from your vet. It'll put weight on her more quickly. Also, get a syringe and start syringe feeding her. She can't go long without a decent amount of food with putting more stress on her liver. Also, if she's not drinking and is dehydrated, ...

I'm so excited!
Nemo's getting neutered! Haven't been here for a while so here's an update for those who don't know...Nemo is my little FeLV+ kitty. He tested positive at 8 weeks old and was taken in to my vet to be euthanized. She couldn't do it so convinced them to give the kitten to her and she gave it to me. He...

Re: HELP!
I don't like FIP tests and I personally don't bother with them. You're right, they only test for the presence of the Corona Virus which could mean just about anything. Did your vet do any presurgical bloodwork to ensure that your kitty could be put under safely? Also, I would maybe suggest another v...

Re: Fleas! Ack!
Cool, thanks Traci. I had heard about using dawn soap but she has such sensitive skin that I'm not comfortable trying to give her a bath with it.

Fleas! Ack!
OK, just found out my cat has fleas. Vet is closed, no Revolution or anything on hand but they have got to go now! Anything that I may have on hand to help help get rid of them for the moment. I'll be getting some Revolution from the vet but that's not until Monday. So far, I haven't seen them anywh...

Re: Red eyes
I agree with Traci. Possibly conjunctivitis. My kitten had the same thing, red rim around the eyes, discharge...I woke up the next morning to find his nictating membranes and eyes red and swollen. It looked like his eyes were about to fall out. Luckily it cleared up with eyedrops from the vet within...

Re: watery eye
My parents cat has the same problem. It just waters every now and then, nothing goopy or colored. The cat has been to numerous vets and finally a feline opthamologist who finally determined that it was a torn tear duct. It may not necessarily mean he's sick. If you take him, take him to a feline opt...

help for kitty
Hey, this was posted on one of my groups and we're all a little stumped on this. The kitty is at a vet right now and they are running a CBC and another test...I can't remember what exactly...any ideas what it might be or any other tests that should be done?? First his general stats....he's about 4 1...

Re: Maine Coon Kitty
I wouldn't say it goes with the breed...my parents have a full maine coon who is the laziest cat you will ever meet. He was like that even as a kitten, but he also had a dog and another cat to play with. 2 kittens seem like the best way to go. They keep themselves entertained and tire each other out.
