Re: Very Sick Maine Coone
Could be that he is hyperthyroid - my kitty was - don't know if he's been tested for that - but it's a simple blood test - checking his T4 levels. This causes weight loss, vomitting, lethargy, rapid heart beat, bad coat - etc - just a thought - my kitty is a main coone as well - and a simple tapazol...

Re: Hefty Kitty
Personally I'd be suprised if it is a thyroid condition - kitties have a natural disposition towards Hyperthyroid rather than hypo.. Your kitty might have the early signs of being diabetic.. I too have a fat kitty - and in her case - as in just some kitties (like people) metabolisms aren't all the s...

Re: fat cat
I too have a fat cat who is obsessed with food. I did take her to the vet as they thought that she might be diabetic, etc - but it turns out she's just fat with a food obsession. Get your kitty as much exercise as you can - which can be tough - also, take her to the vet to rule out disease - also th...

Re: My cat has been vomiting alot!
My kitty was vomitting a lot too - almost always about 5 to 6 hours after he ate - all else was normal.. It ends up that he has Irratible Bowel Disease and I've been given a special diet & have had him on 1/2 a human pepcid tab once a day - and he's gotten better. Hope you get to the vet & i...

Re: Thanks to all re - my kitty vomiting nightly
Took him to the vet - x-ray and standard blood work showed nothing, neither did the clinical exam. Vet's best guess - IBD - and currently he's got him on 1/2 a pepcid pill daily - along with special food. results mixed... Vet want's me to give it a week & see if overall we are better or worse - ...

Thanks to all re - my kitty vomiting nightly
I called the vet and talked to him yesterday - he scheduled an appt for me tomorrow - but in the mean time suggested with-holding food for 24 hours - then start feeding him special easy to digest food (which I picked up yesterday from vet's office) - and adding acidopholis to the food - well I fed h...

Re: Kitty vomitting nightly
Read that and then some - was hoping someone had had a similar experience - it's just soooo strange that he eats 2 times a day and the only time he vomits is at night. I will call the vet and ask - but right now I can't afford huge vet bills - I just spent 500 on one cat 3 months ago - rare foot iss...

Kitty vomitting nightly
Ok - he is about 9 years old, he just started this about a week ago, he exhibts no other symptoms, except that every night right about 3am or so he vomits up this slimy stuff that's colored the color of the food he ate but there is no food. He gets 2 meals a day along with the rest of my kitties and...
