Re: Methionine Supplementation

Thanks Traci. :)

Do you know of any side effects of supplementing with methionine?

Re: My cat urinates in the bathroom sink

When was the last time that she was at the vet? And did you mention this behavior? Inappropriate urination is often a sign of a urinary tract or bladder infection. I would get her into the vet to rule that out. If that isn't the problem, I would start looking at her litterbox situation. My male will...

Methionine Supplementation

Hi all, It's been awhile since I've visited but I have a quick update and also a question. :) My female, Sydney, was diagnosed with struvite stones in December (full story here ). Since then, we've had her on Medi-Cal Dissolution which is a Canadian veterinary diet formulated to dissolve struvite st...

Re: Help! Considering Giving Away My Baby!

From my limited experience, what you are describing seems normal to me. My cat isn't affected by the spray bottle, loud noises or vocal discouragement. I have found that he is much more responsive to time-outs or simply ignoring him. About the petting...he may be displaying what it called petting-in...

Re: Bladder Stones

That is interesting Traci. Medi-Cal actually advertises the gravy as a feature of the food. :? So far, Syd is really liking her food. She likes the dry more than the wet but I'm not surprised by that. Her urination hasn't improved but I have read that it takes about 10 weeks for the stones to dissol...

Re: Help! Considering Giving Away My Baby!

How old is your cat now? We adopted a feral we he was 6 weeks (he was being neglected by mom) and he was behaving the same way. We tried to discipline him but it didn't seem to do much. I am happy to saw that he grew out of it after about a year and a half. He still has his "moments" but n...

Re: 8 year old female PJ was vomitting constantly Firday

Oh my, I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Just a question...did you open a new bag of food? This has happened to my cat before but luckily I took the food away. He was fine shortly after that. It sounds like you have done everything you can for her. To me, it sounds like a poisoning of some...

Re: Lite Foods

Max did have a full checkup before we started him on the weight loss. He is 16lbs. right now and we would like him down to 13lbs. We have decided that 1lb. per month is a good goal as his weight isn't immediately threatening his health. I wouldn't consider him obese, but I would like to get his weig...

Lite Foods

My male is eating Innova Lite right now and it seems to be doing the trick. What is your feeling on Lite food...is it appropriate in some cases, or should the owner just cut back the ration of the regular food?
