Re: Over Grooming
I have a cat who had this problem. He was constantly licking/grooming himself bald! I took him to the vet. My vet determined that it was basically a psychosomatic problem meaning that the physical problem was based in an emotional (or in this case stressful) problem. This isn't as weird as it sounds...

Re: Grooming & Coat
Based upon my experiences with strays and of other people I know who have adopted from shelters, it usually takes a little while to get kitty on the right track. Very often these poor little guys need some help and time to become normal, healthy loving pets. Diarrea is a very common complaint. My ve...

Re: Need Advice
I know you're right Traci and I agree with everything you said. However, if these people are this nutty to get themselves into a situation like this in the first place, I doubt that I will get through to them. I printed out some in-depth info on Pugs for them to read hoping it might sink in how impo...

Re: Need Advice
Hello Traci, The story I got from them is the older daughter had a friend who wanted to buy the dog but didn't have credit, so she put it on her credit card for him. Then he didn't pay her back, and supposedly wasn't caring for him, so she took the dog. (She thought she could breed him for $$.) She ...

Re: Need Advice
As you all have quickly grasped, there are a number of serious issues to be considered. I agree that it would be stressful for my kitties. They had a hard enough time adjusting to each other. Unfortunately I have used up all my vacation, worst luck. Plus from the research I have done on the breed, t...

Re: Need Advice
He likes cats very much, as he has been to my home 2x and wanted to play with them. However, the feeling wasn't mutual. I got different reactions ranging from aggessive to fearful from the cats. As far as the costs, I doubt they will pay for anything.

Need Advice
Hi all, I usually go straight to the feline section as I have 4 cats, so this is my first time here and I need some good sound advice. One of my neighbors has an 11 months Pug who is not housebroken nor fixed. It's a long story, but the bottom line is they don't want to keep OLIVER. I have always wa...

Re: I have two kittens, and they are totally different!
Hi,
I'm also curious as to what you're feeding them since they are so young. When mine was that little she was still nursing. I'm surprised they can eat solid food (if in fact they do). They sell milk formulated for kittens in the petstore. Maybe try that.

Watery eye
Miss Kitty's left eye keeps tearing up. It looks like she's crying. There appears to be absolutely nothing wrong with the eye, but little teardrops keep coming out of the corner. Strange. Do cat's catch colds like humans? I'm going to have it checked, but was wondering if anyone knows what this coul...

Re: Advice on taking stray to vet
We have strays in our yard so we invested in a humane trap which we bought at Home Depot - it was very reasonable. I don't feed cat for a day or so and then put something very tempting (like sardines) in trap and they go in. Then you can bring cat to vet (do not take him out of trap). This kitty may...
