Change in behavior?

My cat Chucky, who is a little over 5, has started acting different in the last week or so. He is sleeping more than usual and I don't see him getting up much to eat or do anything else. I don't see anything physically wrong with him, just the fact that he's not up and about like normal. If he is no...

Re: My cat and the new kitten

I do plan to spay her, although, my vet recommends waiting until 6 months of age. I may call them and speak about getting it done sooner. She was only 1 lb. 4 oz. at 6-8 weeks of age, so she is still tiny :)

Re: HELP with poop!!

She was just checked out by the vet last week and he said that she is very healthy. I don't see that anything could have come up health wise since then. I have since put the litter box in my bathroom and she uses it just fine. There are 4 other cats in the house but we have several litter boxes for ...

HELP with poop!!

This kitten of mine, Boo, insists on pooping in my bathroom floor. We have 3 litter boxes in our house and I have showed her over and over where it is. She is big enough to get in it, because I have seen her do it. Its almost like at night, she is too lazy to walk up the hall and use it, she'd rathe...

Advantage on kitten?

I took my new cat, Boo, to the vet last week for her first checkup. The vet estimated that she was between 6-7 weeks old. He said to wait a week before I put the advantage on her for fleas. I did it this morning and want to be sure I did it correctly. He gave me no instructions so I had to call and ...

Re: Need input on cat hip replacement surgery

My oldest cat, Chucky, had hip replacement surgery back in 1999, when he was only 1. He fell off the refridgerator and well, you can imagine what happened. I did the cheapest form of surgery and it was around $1000 if i remember correctly. I kept him confined for quite sometime and he recovered comp...

Great news on my new kitten

Saw the vet this afternoon and my new kitten is in good health! She had all her tests done that are needed, and all came back negative. She only weighs 1 lb. 4 oz., she is tiny. My vet said that she is the sweetest kitten he has seen in a long time. She purred the whole time we were there. He estima...

Couple of new kitten questions

I have a few questions about this new kitten. Although, he is my 5th, its been a few years. First of all, when can kittens eat dry food? Secondly, 'Boo' has been staying on my glassed in porch until the vet visit (this afternoon) to make sure she is healthy to integrate with my other cats. The tempe...

New kitten

Well, I think I now have a new kitten. Yes, a 5th cat. I really didn't plan or want another, but you know how that goes. We were out at Garden Ridge today and of course I see people trying to dig something out from under a pallett. I just HAD to ask and it was a kitten. My hubby helped me get it out...

Kitten hernia??

I posted about the kittens that were born to the stray that my mother took in the other day. The kittens were born last Saturday, and as of yesterday mom noticed one of the places where the umbilical cord was looked funny. She called our vet and he told her that its very common for small kittens to ...
