catniper - I am glad to hear you found a good vet finally and of course sorry to hear of your cat's condition. Please continue to follow the vets guidance, most have been through something like this before and you simply have to find a way to see her through this. Most clinics offer payment options ...

diamond - Just a couple thoughts here. What testing was done by your vet before prescribing Baytril (or determining it was a virus)? Has ringworm been ruled out? Edit In particular diamond, has testing for a fungal disease been done? Also, testing for immunological problems might be a good measure.

Yzma - I have tried to follow the events of your cat and have some suggestions for you to add to what others have already suggested. Have vet try to close up wound one more time. Find out about injectable vet penicillin (is this being used?), baytril will be helpful to prevent urinary tract infectio...
