Re: Strange Cat Behavior
A friend's cat does this; I think it's ingenious - he does it to loosen the fur off of his toy mice - after they've had a good soak, the fur comes off and he starts eating it...

Re: My new kitty shivers a lot...a little worried.
It's great that you're keeping him inside now, he's much safer indoors. I do hope you can get him to the vet, any way possible - it's really worth it! Especially since health problems tend to get worse and then they cost more later, if you put off dealing with them. While you're there you might want...

Re: My new kitty shivers a lot...a little worried.
Hi Dusty, could you give a little more info - how old is your cat, and when was the last time he was at the vet? How do you know that he has an ear infection (if not b/c the vet told you of course) and what are you using to treat it? Did you just recently start noticing the shivering (I mean, this s...

Re: 3 month old kittens
Science Diet Kitten is good stuff, fatty or no. It did give one of my cats diarrhea, but I don't think that's specific to the SD - might just be from switching food too rapidly. I hope your Peanut is eating/drinking better tonight... are you able to watch their elimination patterns, to see who is do...

Re: Cat with lumps
Hi Chrisitine, I think I'd just wait until your vet appointment, as long as he's not showing any other symptoms. You can also call the vet and describe the symptoms you see to the vet tech, and they will be able to tell you if it's serious or not. If he stops eating, acts lethargic, or if you notice...

Re: food problems
Congratulations on your new kittens! IAMS kitten formula is actually a pretty good food; if they like it, I would stick with that. If you're going to switch, do it slowly, over the course of a week at least. Loose stools are pretty typical whenever you switch foods, especially if you switch too fast...

Re: Strange...
Can't say but I'd take him in to the vet to have it checked out before it gets any worse. It could be any of a number of kinds of skin ailments, parasites, etc, only your vet can tell. Usually these type of things are easier to treat if you catch them early.

Re: Need help, urgent!
I'm glad you're taking him back to the vet tomorrow - I'd go first thing in the morning; this doesn't sound like something you want to wait on. In fact I might call the emergency vet now and ask if there is anything they could do, especially to rehydrate him and get some food down. Your post left me...
