Hi Traci,
I wanted to thank you again for all your help over the years. Just six months after his brother, my Popo has passed at the age of 15. He was blind, deaf, had trouble walking, and finally the pain was too much. You have been a blessing to me when I needed help most. Thank you.

Hi Traci,
I just wanted to thank you for all of your help over the years. My poor Ami passed on today due to his bladder problems. Your advice was always so welcomed, both to help us seek the right assistance and to assuage our fears. All the best to you long into the future!

Re: Left pupil not constricting
How old is he? Do you know if he had any sort of mild trauma recently? (something happen outdoors in the yard or anything?) - is he otherwise healthy and no other illness present? Anisocoria can be caused by various things from something as mild as uveitis to more serious conditions such as glaucom...

Left pupil not constricting
Hi again, I hope all is well with you! We have a new problem with one of my dogs. This time his left pupil is not contracting. I noticed that the sclera was red, so I took him in to the vet and she prescribed maxidex for a week, but she said she noticed his left pupil wasn't constricting and the rig...

Re: "Incontinence" that keeps getting better with
Ok, so you're more comfortable with taking your first vet's advice, waiting for the catheter procedure only. If that's the case, go with your gut feeling, but just make sure you have all the available information before you to make an informed decision. Ask the questions of her that you had planned...

Re: "Incontinence" that keeps getting better with
Confusing, so neither vet is a specialist? I don't understand the conflicting opinions between the two vets. Why the wait on the catheter procedure? (to obtain the cells for pathology) The one I spoke to about scoping/etc. is an internal specialist. We're waiting because he just got off the antibio...

Re: "Incontinence" that keeps getting better with
Did you or your vet work with a certified board nutritionist to get this diet? It seems...well, weird. Did anyone ever comment if he is low on certain vitamins, minerals? What were her comments to your questions yesterday? No, we didn't, we just tried different low oxalate foods until we had the re...

Re: "Incontinence" that keeps getting better with
He's already had so many issues, not many of them were ever cured. Wouldn't you want him out of pain every time he pees? Crystals are painful too! I'd do the cystoscopy, then you'll know where you're at. What food are you feeding? (name and brand) Because of the delicate nature of his bladder, they...

Re: "Incontinence" that keeps getting better with
Infection, inflammation, bladder wall thickening, kidney stones, nephritis, yeah, he needs a specialist. Unless your vet were willing to consult one on your behalf (which she could have been doing all this time), then I think it's worth a consult with a veterinary urologist (or internal med), but p...
