Re: Joe not eating

Thank you for your kind words. Traci, your advice helped us get this far. Two weeks ago, I thought he was doing good considering his diagnosis. He started going downhill overnight. He was putting up a good fight but was getting weaker and eating less. It was hard to lose him but I know it was the ri...

Re: Joe not eating

Hi, I am going to have Joe euthanized tomorrow morning. While he has had his bad days, he had more good days until recently. It has become obvious to me that it is time. I probably should have done it today but wanted to make sure everyone got to say their good byes. My heart is heavy. This does not...

Re: Joe not eating

I am taking him in today for fluids and will ask to be trained again. I am hoping that I would do it and let them watch me. I realize that he senses if I am nervous. We had a bad morning. He was happy and hungry and had pooped which I thought was a good sign. Then after he ate, he tried pooping agai...

Re: Joe not eating

Wanted to let you know that Joe is hanging in there. Went to the vet a week ago and he got fluids, a shot of antibiotic and pred. He has been so much better. He is eating better (5 or 6 small meals per day), purring and keeping his usual schedule. We are taking it one day at a time-- I realize thing...

Re: Joe not eating

He has been different since he went in for tests Monday. But once I sit down on the sofa, he jumps up purring and lays on me for as long as I sit there or next to me curled up purring with his paw over his face. I am having to work at getting him to eat more than I was but he ate 4 times yesterday (...

Re: Joe not eating

That explains why he is not as excited eating the Appetizers this week. He has been less perky since going to the doctor Monday and that concerns me. I will try something different again. I did get him to eat almost all that I gave him at lunch. He will be getting subq fluids again Friday am. That a...

Re: Joe not eating

Thank you Traci. This will be quite helpful when I talk to my vet. The specialist mentioned pain and nausea meds and steroid and an appetite stimulant. So I am going to ask about those. I do have an appetite stimulant but have not given it to him (got it Monday night). He was eating like crazy Monda...

Re: Joe not eating

Hi, I have an update on Joe. He has pancreatic cancer that has metastisized to his liver. (Diagnosed via ultrasound and fine needle aspirations of his liver and pancreas.) He has been eating but not as much as before and has been getting subq fluids weekly. He acts ok except when he goes to the vet....

Re: Joe not eating

Just had to tell you that he ate again today! Wet and dry! He has urinated but I am not sure that he pooped. I have 2 litter boxes and both cats used both boxes. His stool is larger than the other cat's. There was one stool that was slightly larger than the other. So it could be his. I haven't tried...

Re: Joe not eating

I will do that Tracy. The good news is that he did eat some wet food tonight. Not alot but it was something. He has been more his old self tonight-all lovey and purring. Now if he would poop...
