Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Yup was Kitty for sure. Was following him around with a roll of toilet paper to clean up and then mark the spot on the rug with more toilet paper so I would know where to clean. My living room like like an operating room or something...walk in the door and there are about 12 piles of toilet paper al...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Well I just got home from work and there are no new spots anywhere so I guess that crisis is over too.
Now I have to get out my little spot rug cleaner and go around cleaning all the spots! I have a big one but I loaned it out and haven't got it back yet.
Thanks to all.

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

I just let him out of the room before I read this. He ran right down and had some water and food. That was at 6:30 and it is now 7:00 and he is acting like himself. Yesterday it was within a few minutes of having something to eat or drink that it would come back up. I also think he enjoyed having hi...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Maybe I misunderstood what she gave him. Here is what the receipt says: Convenia injection (per 1mL) Depo Medrol Injection (per mL) Then she told me to give him and Scout the Revolution that night before we went to bed so they would not be petted for 8 hours. That is what I did. I called the emergen...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Yes She did tell me it was to be applied once a month. Ok on the flea powder. Collar it is.
New problem just started now. He is vomiting. First two little half dollar size spots were bloody and the next few times were like sludge and the last few was brown liquid.
I have a call in to the vet.

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

So, I called the vet. Yup, have to have cats and people out of the house because "the spray is toxic to cats". Ok, NO WAY. If it is toxic to cats, whose to say it won't make me or my son sick. I have vicious allergies. I have a very old worn out wall to wall carpet and who knows how much o...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

yes, after combing him for a while in one of the scratching areas along with a lot of dead flaky skin were little black dots and a few were moving. The spray she gave me is Siphotrol Plus 11. Fast acting formula 100% knock down for adult fleas in 10 minutes. Kills both adult and immature fleas and t...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Thanks. They were saying this is the worst season for fleas they can remember. That was a nice vet business, little country town like mine, one vet and her husband runs the office. Once Kitty is better he will be going for his update shots as will Scout. I was horrified to find out my house has flea...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

My old vet forgot to mention to me that indoor only cats CAN indeed get fleas! My new vet told me today that is what is wrong with Kitty. He got an antibiotic shot, a stop itch shot, that liquid flea stuff that goes on the back of the neck for both cats, and a can of spray to do the house with. Spen...

Re: cat scratching, sores and cuts

Vet asked me a ton of questions like that. Indoor or outdoor...Indoor always, new food...no, new blanket...no, any visible bugs...no, rug cleaner, air cleaner, no and no. I wish we could go tomorrow but they are closed. He does not seem to be in pain, I don't know how that is even possible with what...
