Re: I think I have to put Muffin down.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When I commented to my daughter (age 26) about how gutwrenching the grieving process for Stoffie was and how shocked I was at how badly I was feeling, she put it into this perspective: "Mom, it doesn't matter whether you lose a pet or a person, your heart doesn't dif...

I'll absolutely keep an eye on him! And his picture is the last one on the first page of successes...at least the way the page opens up for me. He is sitting up on a green plaid couch...

Re: Mr Mistoffelees Mom is now Teddy's Mom! And Teddy is si

Hello, Just an update on Teddy - happily he is now free of all respiratory infection and worms and is healthy and happy. Clearly he is used to snuggling with other cats from his colony days because he wants to get as close to us as he can...my husband is even enjoying him and that's saying something...

Re: Mr Mistoffelees Mom is now Teddy's Mom! And Teddy is si

Hi, Traci, sorry - the dosage was indeed 62.5mg (my typo). We just got back from seeing the vet and she did a swab. Nothing wrong in his mouth at all - perfect teeth. There isn't anything lodged in his nasal cavities either. He is breathing freely. But she's changed the meds to Zeniquin, 25 mg for 1...

Mr Mistoffelees Mom is now Teddy's Mom! And Teddy is sick..

Well, I wandered into a shelter about a month after losing Stoffie, ostensibly just to "visit" and lo and behold if this gorgeous ginger and white kitty didn't put his paw between the slats of his cage and catch my arm! I picked him up and that was it - love at first sight. Teddy is such a...

Re: Mr Mistoffelees has cancer

Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of my heart. Your thoughts, words and prayers are more comforting that I can possibly convey. We are doing relatively okay, although the pain creeps up on me when I least expect it! I know that's normal and I just have a good cry. I see Stoffie everywhere, doing ...

Re: Mr Mistoffelees has cancer

Sadly, Stoffie has used up all of his lovely nine lives. He developed a very aggressive tumour in his stomach, and stopped eating altogether, despite our best efforts to stimulate his appetite. For the past 30 hours or so, he experienced difficulty lying down - no position was comfortable and he was...

Re: Mr Mistoffelees has cancer

Thank you all for the kind comments and support. Traci, excellent advice, thank you. My vet and I are in almost daily contact and she is wise, empathetic and knowledgeable. We've given Stoffie many food choices and he is on vitamins, supplements for appetite and bone marrow stimulation. I think he's...
