Re: Prayers for Sammy?
All his bloodwork had been normal, Traci, and there was no trauma that we could recall, and I'm here all day so it's unlikely anything really noticeable would have happened to cause it without me noticing. Sammy has made a full recovery and aside from a little more wiggle in his back half when he wa...

Re: Orthopedic problem- knee injury
Update: Sally is recovering from TPLO surgery right now. It took forever to get the referral faxed down, but making the appointment was a breeze. Both her legs have tears, the right leg is a partial and likely caused recently due to the stress she's put on it from compensating for the left leg. We'l...

Re: Prayers for Sammy?
Sammy is coming home today. He continues to improve and is at about 70% full function. The vet feels it may be some kind of inflammation (I agree, I was already feeling that was the problem) and that this can heal without surgical intervention with stringent supportive care and continued medical the...

Update: Sammy is now able to walk albeit staggering, and can urinate on his own. He's eating, happy, and wagging his tail though they're keeping him quiet, obviously. I did *not* get a chance to talk to the vet (she left a message but I couldn't get the phone when she called) this afternoon, she'll ...

Re: Prayers for Sammy?
Traci- I'll ask the vet about her plans to contact a neurologist when she gives her afternoon report. Sammy is still showing improvement, but I do realize that doesn't mean he doesn't have something serious wrong with him.

Prayers for Sammy?
My dog, Sammy, is in the hospital with paralysis his front legs and paresis in the back legs. I don't know the cause because we can't have an MRI performed. No matter what I try I can't come up with the money and the only "local" clinic with that capability (as in, the rest are 5 hours awa...

LOL it's okay. I don't mind! AND new update- my vet is faxing the referral tomorrow to the clinic with the board certified ortho surgeon in Pittsburgh. They actually have three orthopedic specialists, all are certified by the company who developed TPLO as qualified, trained surgeons, and one is boar...
