Re: here is a drug reaction site you might want to save
I'm finding that the best prescription the vet gave me is to keep Crystal leashed for awhile. She is much calmer around the house and isn't going crazy and getting hurt. She's not getting that much exercise though. I'm going to give her leg another week to heal (it seems fine already) and then start...

Re: here is a drug reaction site you might want to save
Today I had to call the vet.....last week he prescribed a 7 day course of Rimadyl for Crystal's leg injury. During the first few days of treatment, Crystal vomited and I thought nothing of it. Today, she vomited 3 times and when I called him, he told me to discontinue it. I only had one more day to ...

Re: Crystal's Limping
Ah, the power of drugs..........that glucosamine shot is like a magic wand. She is so much more comfortable this morning. I have to take her out on a leash in the yard though. She keeps looking at me wondering why I won't let her run wild. And, now that spring is in the air ~ she'll be even more nut...

Re: Our Easter guest.....daughter's Basset puppy
Yes, I'd love to get one for Crystal. Maybe she'll calm down a bit and actually play with a toy instead of ripping it to shreds.
Biscotti looks like a really great dog. Baxter's spotted belly just cracks me up!!

Oh, isn't he a character! I love that last photo.....it's like he's a large beany baby. My daughter would love that cute little plush saxaphone toy.........she plays the sax. Maybe we'll find one in our travels. With Crystal, it'll last about a day or so....nothing lasts longer than that around here.

Re: Crystal's Limping
Thank goodness Crystal doesn't have hip dysplasia....she just has the biggest butt in the N.Y. metro area. She weighed in at 88# today. Luckily, Crystal started putting some weight on her leg and stopped changing positions 900 times by late afternoon. The vet didn't really say what it was except tha...

Re: Crystal's Limping
Yes ~ I have a 5:20 appt. today. I need my husband's help to get her in to the vet because she's 85 lbs. and can't jump into my SUV.
They told me that if it is the hip and it needs to be X-rayed, I'll have to leave her overnight because it has to be done on an empty stomach.

Crystal's Limping
Crystal got hurt again...but this time I suspect it's serious. She was extra rambunctious on Easter when we brought her over to my MIL's. Yesterday, she couldn't get comfortable and then last night refused to put her rear leg down. She was lying down like a frog with both knees up. I have to call th...

Re: A poll about doggie baths......
In the summer months, I give a once a month bath where the dog gets lathered up and soaking wet and I do this outside on the deck. During winter, I give a wipedown every 2 weeks with watered down shampoo on a washcloth followed by lots of rinsing and wiping. I finish with a Listerine/water spray and...
