Still waiting for them to come back in. They will call me when they get them. Still a possibility.

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
No, the vet said it's very likely he had a stomach virus or something that the antibiotics are clearing up. Today, he is almost back to normal. Normal stools, eating fine, playing, running around, happy meows, etc. He is doing really well.

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
Our kitty seems to be improving. Last night, he ate and had no vomiting. And, he showed some interest in playing (wrestling with kitten) and was purring. This morning, he passed stool and it wasn't completely "formed", but it also wasn't diarrhea. He looks better, played this morning with ...

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
Also, he has been urinating normally (I watched him). And, I am almost positive he passed some feces today as well. It's wasn't a lot - a small pile of droplets that had a diarrhea consistency.

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
They already did an X-ray yesterday and nothing showed up. But, they are thinking maybe there is something in there that isn't showing. For this reason, they plan to do another X-ray in the morning and an ultrasound and then, obviously surgery if they find something. He didn't seem to be in any pain...

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
I did tell the vet - I had him in there yesterday. The howling only started last night and he was doing it this morning. And, I talked with the vet twice today. The blood results, including the CBC, were completely normal. They have him on antibiotics now and we are waiting for the results of the ca...

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
One more thing, how could he be perfectly fine on Friday (running around and playing like a maniac with the new kitten, eating, happy, alert, no problems) and then seem sick on Sunday. How could a virus strike so suddenly? I guess I realize it could happen, but it's so unbelievable. That's why I kee...

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
We brought him home and he did eat when he got home, which was great. He had some soft treats and wet food. No dry food. He did not go to the bathroom. He seems to be feeling pretty bad, though. He is usually very sweet and he is now howling when you try to pick him up or touch him too much. And, he...

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
I'm calling to ask for swab cytology right now. If he has calicivirus, will he die? I heard there is a new deadly strain, but that the original strain is treatable. Is that true?

Re: Advice on sick cat - not eating, vomiting, etc
When our kitten was sick, he had a fever of 105.8 and was extremely lethargic and slept constantly with no playing. He had no other real symptoms - he ate normally, drank water, didn't sneeze, cough, no diarrhea, etc. They did blood work and found toxins in his blood and he was slightly anemic. They...
