Re: deshedding tool?
Thanks for the advice. The lady I was standing in front of in line thought it was battery operated, and for $39.99 I assumed it was. I'm glad I asked you before I bought it! You are right, I checked and it is much cheaper on ebay, but still....my cats do just fine with their brush and the last thing...

deshedding tool?
Hi all! As I was standing in a very long line today at Petco, they had a video running advertising a deshedding tool called the "FURminator." It is basically an electric brush, but makes all sorts of claims of greatness (reduce shedding, healthy skin, shiny topcoat, no hairballs etc.) My k...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
I originally planned to just foster the whole family until the kittens were old enough to be adopted out, and then I was going to adopt Mama Zoe and baby girl, Mia. But my whole family fell in love with the little runt, Rocko, (he was the first kitten we got back after the whole ringworm thing) and ...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
Yep, all four are here, healthy, and non-stop action! Between the kittens and my two boys, it's gets a bit wild, but we're loving it. They are really great together. Now the hard part will be letting any of them go!

UPDATE:
Okay, here's a little Peaches and Herb for you...."Reunited and it feels so good!"
We are all (cats and humans) ringworm free and under one roof!
Patch hid for the first day he was back, but now everyone is getting along well, playing, snuggling etc.
Whew!

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
I believe that the other foster mom is doing her best under less than ideal circumstances. She has been a volunteer at this rescue organization for 5 years. The reason she has this family in her bathroom is because the other rooms have foster animals waiting for adoption or her own pets. I think she...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
The woman who had them (and still has the other two) kept them quarantined once she knew they had ringworm, but she did have one other cat in her home get it. This little mama and her babies have been bounced around quite a bit. They were found about 125 southeast of where I live in a rural area. Th...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
That is a good idea. I'll call tomorrow and make an appointment to have a culture done on one of them. Is it correct that it takes a week or so to get the results? Is there something I should be doing besides the shampoo in the mean time? You are right, I can't tell you how bummed I'll be if my kids...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
I know, I totally hear you on this. I am concerned that Zoe and Rocko could still have it, too. I think mentioned that after the first visit I was not impressed with this vet. It is not a low cost center, there seemed to be lots of happy returning customers in the waiting room, and I think the fact ...

Re: Mama cat + son or daughter?
Thanks for the advice! I am glad to hear that siblings of either gender can get along. I have the mom and the littlest boy kitten now because they were the first to be "clear" of the ringworm. I took them back to the original vet that the foundation usually uses last weekend. Although he s...
