Well if he's unsure about diagnosis, then yes, bypass him and go to your veterinary opthamologist.....it may or may not be a blocked duct, it could be a foreign body (dust or other foreign particle etc), or a scratched cornea, etc. Did your vet do a complete eye exam, did he stain the eye to check ...

Blocked tear duct
My dog has developed an occasional runny right eye. My vet thinks it could be a blocked tear duct. He mentioned sedating her and flushing the duct out. What is the procedure with this? Should I just go right to the opthalmologist?

Re: Toxoplasmosis - curable?
Was the blood (serologic sample) sent to an outside lab for confirmation, and was hemobartonella included in the testing? Did your vet request retesting about 3 weeks after the first test? Toxoplasmosis - curable?
I did a search on this site and researched other places and can't seem to find a definite answer as to whether toxo is absolutely curable. One source said it is curable in 7 to 10 days with antibiotics, another said only 40 to 60% of cats can be cured, another said it is only curable when detected e...

Cracked nail healing time?
My border collie mix split a nail on her front left leg, so we went to the vet and the nail had to be cut way back, styptic liquid applied and the foot bandaged. She got a sedative injection and I was given Amoxitabs for 5 days for her. The fill-in vet said I could take the bandage off the next day,...
