A Good Mommy?
Hi everyone, our kittens are 10 days old now. They're all doing very well, including the one who had to have the tail amputation. They've nearly doubled in size and are starting to try to walk more. I have a slight concern though. The kittens are currently in a large uhaul box with most of one side ...

Re: Newborn Kittens
Hi Everyone, Our vet wasn't able to get us in until first thing this morning but we went in and just got back. The vet amputated the entire tail, it was shorter than normal anyway. She said our best option would be to just let her take it off like they do to day old puppies *cringe*. That's what we ...

Re: Newborn Kittens
Good to know, thanks! This is my first litter!
I'll give my vet a call.
I do have pictures that were taken last night during and right after delivery.
They're at: http://www.nilesweb.com/albums/kittens/photoalbum.shtml

Newborn Kittens
Hi Everyone, I wrote in awhile back about a stray cat I had adopted from a co-worker. She turned out to be pregnant and had her babies last night! Everyone looks healthy and mother and babies are doing great. I do have one concern about one of the kittens though. I noticed when it was born it appear...

Re: Stray Kitty
Thanks everyone! We love her. I forgot what having a kitten was all about. It's been 3 years since we've had one this young in the house and uh, walking by the bed is no longer safe. Her favorite past-time seems to be charging out at our feet from under the dust ruffle.

Re: Stray Kitty
An update on our newest addition. She checked out great at the vet. Was given what shots she could be given. Since we're not sure if she's pregnant or not we have to wait on some of the shots. We started introducing her to the rest of our family. The first thing she did was scope out the kitty tunne...

Re: Stray Kitty
Hi Traci, They can actually touch noses under the door, our cats can get their whole arms underneath the doors in our place. :) Actually, one of our cats is known for reaching under and pulling the hallway rug into the room whenever she's locked in a room for any reason. We live in a really o...

Re: Stray Kitty
Thanks for the quick response Traci, I'll do exactly that then. I'll keep her crated in a room until after she's examined and I get the test results. The smock or robe isn't something I'd thought of so I'll be sure to do that too! I'll post back with the results when I get them. :) Hopefully everyth...

Stray Kitty
Hi Everyone, it's been awhile since I've written, not since the new board that's for sure. Very nice. I have a question. I'm picking up a 5 or 6 month old stray tabby cat tonight from the friend of a co-worker. I couldn't get a vet appointment scheduled until tomorrow at 2pm. What precautions exactl...
