Don, so very sorry to hear about your best friend's diagnosis. I lost my Mack to bladder cancer in June of 2003. I found a wonderful site for those of us who are going through or have gone through this horrible disease with their pets. Here is the link. it is a wonderful place with lots of knowledge...

New Rescue

I just got a little terrier mix from a rescue organization. I've had her for a week and she is going to my vet tomorrow for a complete checkup.. was wondering, however - I noticed that she sometimes has mucous in her stool... what could this be? Is is something to worry about?

I have a Boston who is now 6. When he was a puppy he did exactly the same thing... they have no fear and think they are big dogs... Mack still thinks he is King of the Hill. Omega 3s

I want to start Mack on Omega 3s... does anyone have any recommendations? He has very bad inhalent allergies and I'm sure he could benefit from this... my vet suggested 3v caps, but I'm looking for all suggestions...

I've always used Frontline...

and my dog has never had a flea or a tick- I live in SE Florida and I use it year round.. if your pets already had a flea problem when you applied it, you may have to get rid of the fleas first, then use the Frontline as a preventative measure. I've been very happy with it

Possible Prostate Problem in neutered dog

During Mack's recent yearly exam I was telling my vet that I thought he was straining to urinate.. he checked and found some red & white blood cells and thought he may have a slight bladder infection. While he was examing him he checked his prostate... he said that it is hard and it should be so...
