Re: Cat Cold

Thanks Traci. I feel better about her soaking wet nose! Both girls had a 4 in 1, and they do not go outside at all. Malbie is still skiddish with us, but she has come a long way since May. She actually cuddles now, but won't let me pick her up. She has to come to me. She will come into the bedroom, ...

Cat Cold

I think one of my girls has a cold. Last night she came to cuddle & her nose was soaking wet...some of it even dripped on my arm it was so wet. Poor thing. She's not sneezing, peeing & pooping well, still active when we play. It could just be the change in weather, I guess, but she won't com...

Runny Stool

My girls have been eating Nutro since we got them about 3 months ago. The vet approved of the food, and they seem to like it. Recently I noticed their stool has been kind of runny. They have not had any changes in the food, and they were de-wormed recently so I dont think it's worms. I have heard th...

Re: Litter box - behavior vs. emergency

Update - It's a bladder infection. Meds for the infection & inflammation are on their way. Thankfully it's pill form so I should have no problem. She took the worm meds just fine when I hid them in a soft treat. So glad she'll be ok. That stupid shelter is going to get such a nasty letter from u...

Re: Worm meds working....

Yes, they have been playing, maybe even a little more than usual they are craving attention. (Guilty working mom here - I felt so bad leaving this morning...)

They have certainly been eating, just not licking the bowl clean and devouring every single bite as they had been before the meds.

Worm meds working....

I gave the first dose of Roundworm meds to the girls on Saturday, and it's already working - I found a bunch of them in the litter box already (gross, but glad to see results...) I've noticed they already started eating less. Is this because the worms are being eliminated and the girls are getting m...

Re: Roundworms

I think they close early to the public on Fridays. I believe Friday afternoon is when they do surgury for the shelters nearby. Someone may call me back. I just thought someone here could help while I waited and you did - thanks. What a shame about the puppy.. I'm glad to hear he was your good friend...

Roundworms

To top things off, I got a call from the vet to say the girls tested positive for roundworms. I will not be able to pick up the meds until tomorrow as their office already closed - can anyone tell me about the medication for this? Stupid shelter. Horrible records. And they said they were dewormed! G...

Re: Litter box - behavior vs. emergency

thank you everyone for your suggestions and support. With the help of my husband and a neighbor, we were able to corner her to a point where she froze and I was able to grab her, with minimal stress. Both girls were checked out and given a clean bill of health. As far as Malbie's urination problem, ...

Re: Litter box - behavior vs. emergency

I have tried wrapping her in the towels, blankets, sweatshirts, etc. I have tried tossing them over her to scare her. I have tried blocking her from running with them. Nothing works. She finds a way to squirem or twists her way out of my arms, or scratches me until I can't hold her anymore. I had on...
