Re: My kitten is trying to nurse from my chin!
Thanks Traci, I'm glad we are on the right track. I guess I may have to break out the squirt bottle. We try not to use it too much as just the sound of it sends Mattingly under the bed and we don't want him to feel he is being punished for anything. He is such a sensative cat. She is not yet spayed ...

My kitten is trying to nurse from my chin!
I posted here a few weeks ago about my concerns introducing our new almost 3-month-old female kitten Harlie to our 1-year-old male cat, Mattingly. Thanks to Traci's advice, all is very well between them now. I have one question about Harlie's behavior though. Quick background is that she and her lit...

Re: weight loss
This is my first post on your story and I'm so glad that Cheddar is back home with you. I just had to post because it made me chuckle when she wanted to use her litterbox downstairs like she always does. We recently lost a cat we had for 19 years. By the end she had arthritis, was blind, and had onl...

Re: Male cats are from Mars, Female cats are from Venus?
Growing up we had a mix of male and female cats. There were times when two males were the best of friends of the bunch, and others when a male and female were. Currently I have a one-year-old male and a new 12-week-old female kitten. They are getting on quite famously now. My personal experience tel...

Re: I'm so confused - Cat Introductions
We just went through the same things with our 12 week old kitten and our 1 year old cat. It was definitely harder on me than it was on them. With Traci's advice, things have worked out beautifully. It really is important not to interfere unless someone is actually getting hurt. Our kitten is a talke...

Re: Doing so much better
The rewards are SO worth it. The first time they snuggled together to sleep, my husband and I were beside ourselves. And as a matter of fact, we haven't separated them in almost three days. Pretty much the only time we put Harlie in the bathroom now is for her to have her midday and evening snacks.....

Doing so much better
I posted here a few weeks ago about our new kitten (now named Harlie) interacting with our older can Mattingly. I was concerned that their play might be too rough and wasn't sure if it was play or aggression. I just wanted to share what we've learned over the last few weeks in the hopes that it will...

Re: Need lots of help...please!!!!
I would also add that the scooting could be a result of the kitten having worms, or having irritation after going to the bathroom... this is what I have experienced with cats in the past. It is a good idea to get her thoroughly checked out by a vet, and if it is worms the vet can easily take care of...

Re: Play or Fighting?
Traci I can't thank you enough. Things are already so much better today. They have interacted a lot today, and it's getting much more relaxed. We started by playing with them separately but in the same room. My husband played with Mattingly and I played with the kitten using toys, so they played nea...

Re: can anybody help? cat flu question
Ok, I can't add much on the health-front here, except to say in my own experience and that of my mother with her cats, we always find it best to use only a vet we trust. The other thing is the sneezing and drooling you mentioned was something we went through with our cat Mattingly when he was a kitt...
