Re: Bump on cat's nose
Thanks for the replies. Jrenter, I read your posts and viewed your pictures, and I looked up information on abscesses, and didn't think it applied to my cat's situation because it seems like they are bigger, and result from wounds. Why do you ask about the sneezing?? As a matter of fact, he was snee...

Bump on cat's nose
Hello. My 18 month old neutered male cat has a little bump on his nose. For a couple days I just thought the hair was a bit mussed up but now it has become a distinct bump, under the hair. It's sort of like a zit or a wart or something--quite small. I haven't seen any discharge or hair loss or disco...

green poop--worried
I apologize for the grossness of this question, but really need some advice. I just scooped my cat's litterbox and his poop has green slime. There were solid pieces as usual, but also soft green slime, almost like phlegm. He's acting normal, and has a normal appetite, but I'm really worried. He does...

Re: need help clipping claws
Thank you so much, all, for the helpful suggestions! For now I am definitely going to purchase the item Debbie suggested--sort of a kitty straightjacket and he'll hate me for it, but I hope only briefly! Maybe over time I can work toward being able to clip without the restraining device. I have trie...

need help clipping claws
Can anyone suggest ways to make claw-clipping less of an ordeal? I feel I need to do it, because when his claws get long, he gets them stuck in things and does more damage to furniture etc. However, he HATES having them cut and fights it for all he's worth and my hands usually end up pretty shredded...

yellowish coat
This is another question about my 9-month-old neutered male. He is mostly white, and this winter I've noticed his fur has a yellowish cast. I've seen a similar effect on polar bears in the zoo. Is this normal? Is it an indication of any problem? His coat is obviously thicker now than it was when he ...

Unhappy cat
I haven't had a chance to look at this forum for ages, I'm afraid. I have two concerns I hope someone can advise me on, I'll post them as separate topics. First: Worried about my 9-month-old neutered male's agressiveness and emotional state. I posted a topic here a few months ago regarding his aggre...

aggressive cat attacks
Can anyone please give me suggestions on my wild little 7-month-old neutered male cat--he is normally very sweet and we're good buddies, but occasionally he goes into frenzies where he seems to want to kill me. It might be provoked by my moving my hand, or sometimes when I just walk by--he'll pounce...

Okay to give cat some human food?
I went into cat ownership believing the best diet was dry catfood only, but lately I'm starting to wonder whether it would be okay to give my 7-month Neo occassional human treats, namely carbohydrates, especially vegetables. For whatever reason he LOVES them. It started with my giving him a bit of c...

What temperature is comfy for cats?
What temperature do you set your thermostat when you leave your cats at home in winter? This will be our first winter with a cat. We used to leave the house at about 60 degrees F when we would leave for work etc. Is that warm enough for the cat to be comfortable? I know I personally wouldn't find it...
