You may want your vet to also check her hearing. You said she responds to a higher pitch voice. It is not uncommon for blue-eyed white persians to be or have some loss of hearing.

I once had a kitty who would occationally get a swollen bottom lip, it would usually appear after she went on a grooming escapade. The swelling would recede in a day or so.
