Re: Any Luck with Scratching Posts?
I have used Felix scratching posts for about 17 years and my cats loved them and never touched the furniture again after getting them. My current kitty who will be 2 soon was a feral and he started scratching my couch, but after placing him on the post (have to catch him in the act) a few times he g...

Re: cat bath
Is she a long hair or short hair? Our long hair friends do require the occational bath but definatly not 2/3 times a week, more like 2/3 times a year (especially during the winter months when the heat is on). I would bath my Persians in November and June (except those that were showing then it was e...

I would find yourself another vet. My kitty w/crf goes in for bloodwork every 2 months when things are good and every 2 to 3 weeks when values are up. Do you know what his are? Specifically BUN, Creatnine, phosphorus? His eating is a good thing w/crf kitties (its when they stop that you really have ...

Re: Cat is a big pain in the butt
As long as he is purrfectly healthy and he is doing it just to do it, I say this. Live with it, enjoy it and relish every moment. You will be amazed at how fast time will fly and they are no longer here and would kill for just one more lick or face smush on your forehead. Always remember your kitty ...

What seems strange to me if it is happening the way you describe, the kitty is not even getting past the point of smelling the food. Have they check his nose, nasal cavity, etc. also have her/vet check his whiskers, he may have a stubby by his mouth that is causing him pain when touched by eating, b...

Re: Swollen bottom lip
I once had a kitty who would occationally get a swollen bottom lip, it would usually appear after she went on a grooming escapade. The swelling would recede in a day or so.
In any event, speak to your vet.

Re: Help:Senior Cat Question---Emergency Situation?
I too have a kitty with hypertension and CRF. My Wiggy is also on Norvasc, but we started him on a very low dose and his blood pressure has come down (can i mention the dosage Traci?) at his last check up he was in the high end of normal down from 210. His kidney values are down, still out of normal...

Re: Hyperthyroidism
Just an update on my Flower, all his blood work was in normal range. His T4 came in at 1.8 (lab range 0.8-4.0) and his Free T4 came in at 36 (10-50). Being a mom of a crf kitty, I pay close attention to kidney values and Im not sure I like what I see or I may be over obsessive. Flowers urea on this ...
