Yes, I always dump them according to the expiration date, but I always have some (current Rx) on hand.

Re: Anal abscess & amoxycillin?
Thanks, Traci! I have some antibiotics on hand because of a congenital heart problem and have to be pre-medicated prior to any dental work. Thanks for the reminder, though. We do have K-Y and I'll use that.
I appreciate your post! THanks again!

Anal abscess & amoxycillin?
Our little 17 pound, 9 yr old Bichon-girl developed an abscess to the left of her anus yesterday. We called the vet and have an appt tomorrow morning. We put warm compresses on it and during the night, it popped and drained. We cleaned her up and did another warm compress and applied neosporin. I fo...

Thanks, mamabear. I think his dog is of German descent, rather than American.

Reconstructed knee & new probs w/GSD--need input pls
Hi! I's asking this question for a friend of mine. He just moved and I believe he is in the process of getting recommendations for a good vet in the area. His German Shepard Dog is eleven years old. When the dog was seven, he had his right knee re-constructed. Recently, the dog's injured LEFT leg (I...

How long to wait between ACL repairs??
Our lab mix tore her left ACL in January and we had it surgically repaired. She tore her right ACL a few months later. The vet wanted to wait until the left one was healed, and said we could schedule surgery in September, to give the left one time to fully heal. Since we are waiting, does this mean ...

Can dogs get "skin tags" ??
Our lab-shep mix has what looks like a skin tag (or floppy wart, if you can imagine it) on the top of one of her toes. It doesn't seem to bother her, but tomorrow we're calling for a vet appt.
Thanks for any help!

Re: Another blown knee on our 60 lb Lab--help! PLEASE!
Thank again for all your good wishes. The vet won't operate until her left leg/knee is healed. Since that left knee injury happened at the end of January, that means we have it give it until the end of July or the beginning of August to heal fully. If we have the surgery on her right leg/knee too so...
