Manually expressing bladder
Could someone please describe the procedure to manually express a cat's bladder? And how can I tell if it is full or empty?

Re: Matted Cat Fur.
I am a pet groomer and shaving is MUCH safer that cutting with scissors. You would need an electric pet clipper with a short blade (short teeth on the blade are much safer than the blades that leave more fur on) I am glad that you see the abuse in neglecting his coat and leaving it matted. He deserv...

Re: Cat Not Housebroken -- Help ! !
if you have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes (as I read the post) THAT could be part of the problem. Personally I'd add 2 more boxes and put them as close to the areas that she has peed inappropriately on. But most importanly, have her more thoroughly tested at the vet. Something medical could have been mi...

Re: amputated tail- will personality ever get back to normal
from personal experience: I had a cat who also had a mysterious injury to the end of her tail. A small prtion needed to be amuptated. For some reason she would NOT leave it alone. Ripped the stiches out 3 times. The e-collar did not work becuase she was able to get her tail around it to her mouth. A...

Re: FIP question, information please
I have a routine vet appointment on monday and I will ask The Dr. about her feel on this situation. But in the mean time I am just trying to compile some points of views, because I know there is a lot of mystery around this disease.

Re: FIP question, information please
Thank you. The distemper and rabies are all up to date on all concerned. Is the FIP titer test you mentioned in the first post that same as or different from the FIP ELISA test you mention in this post? Are the results of this test the kind that can change over time? (in other words, could it be too...

Re: FIP question, information please
The cats as well as the kittens are all tested negative for FeLV/FIV but not vaccinated. (these are rescue cats waiting for adoption, so the group tries to keep the vet costs down). Would the vaccination be NECESSARY as I might be willing to swing the cost of the titer for the 2 adults but adding 5 ...

FIP question, information please
Here is the question: Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to allow a cat who has been exposed to FIP in to a household with other cats? Here is why: I have 3 foster kittens, now 5 months old. They live separate (for the most part) from my own kitties. I was going to foster 2 more cats over the win...

Re: Why is my cat doing this now?
Tina's post mirrors EXACTLY what I would have said. But I'd like to add one thing. With a kitten in the house, is it possible that the older cat has been "ambushed" while doing his business? If he was attacked (even playfully) while in the box, he might decide to move to a "safer"...

Re: Help - My cat is suddenly biting us for no reason!!
Sounds like he might be wanting extra attention. If you were a cat, this might be how he would initiate the cat in play. Try giving him extra play time.......maybe chasing a toy on a pole.
