We had a good time at the funeral.... Yes, we are davets kids. The funeral director said we put the FUN back in funeral. We told funny stories about him, shared lots and lots of pictures. Plus people would come up to me and tell me a funny story. One of my favorites. My friends father went out to ch...

He will be missed but we did find a folder called Funeral Plans. Just like davet to plan the whole thing out for us. I'm in charge of dressing him in a Hawaiian shirt and the loudest tie I can find. He said if people don't walk away laughing, he will haunt me forever. He left us notes which had the ...

Re: Orthopedic problem- knee injury
Great to hear she is doing well. I always found the recovery to be the hardest part on me. I'm sure my dogs just weren't as stressed. My bernese mountain dog now has a partial tear. She only has a slight limp, currently I'm trying to get her to lose weight. I can see her waste now. I'm hoping the we...

Re: behavior issue
You could try to teach her to sit on a rug or towel. That's usually the first thing puppy kindergarten teaches. That's her place to wait. You can use that when eating dinner or when friends come over, she has to stay on her spot. Come up with a phrase like Mat or Bed or Time out... Have her sit for ...

Re: heat
When you work in the trenches, you see this every single day. It gets old. It gets tiring. It gets frustrating. Irresponsible owners. Irresponsible breeders. Puppy mills. Abuse, neglect, harm. Pet overpopulation while millions suffer and millions await a horrible fate in animal shelters. I like tha...

Re: heat
Do you realize that your dog can die from complications of having a litter? Its not something you take lightly. Complications can cost you thousands of dollars. Are you prepared for that? If your dog does die, you could end up hand raising all the puppies, that's round the clock feedings, are you re...

Re: Orthopedic problem- knee injury
Davet broke his computer again. Don't know when he'll be back. With my first TPLO, he suggested injecting something into the joint to turn it into a solid mass. :o He thought the modern way was a waste of money. Let us know what happens, we are here for you. Best of luck. I see from the football gam...

Re: Orthopedic problem- knee injury
Some older vets think that TPLO is not needed (davet). But having seen the results in 2 of my dogs, one had both knees done and the other just one knee, its well worth it.. BUT... I had a great surgeon from Tufts. He does these procedures all the time and also teaches. Check out the University of Pe...

Re: Orthopedic problem- knee injury
Has anyone mentioned TPLO surgery? I've been through that 3 times with great success.
