Re: Destroying our carpet!
We only scold her when we catch her. We don't scold her after the fact. We know that would have no merit. I have not tried the water bottle method with her, but used it many times with the other cat (she thought it was a game). This cat was so shy and timid from the start and has only in the past ye...

Re: Destroying our carpet!
She absolutely gets greeting time. I don't think it is a protest. She doesn't only do it at those times, she does it right in front of us too, and then gets scolded. Like I said, I think it is a soothing thing for her, much like our other cat using the scratching post, they both get that "ahhhh...

Re: Destroying our carpet!
Thanks for responding! We tried putting the scratching post where she usually scratches, but it was miraculously moved every time. (It is the rope kind, not the carpet) We didn't try the catnip, so will definitely give that a try, as well as febreeze. I don't think she is bored, she gets tons of att...

Destroying our carpet!
I have a 3 year old former feral cat that I got when she was 7 months old. Since I have had her she has destroyed 2 oriental rugs, the carpet in our old house and now the carpet in our new house. She just runs into the room and starts scratching/digging. We have tried scratching posts (even that fla...

Re: Wet food vs. Dry food
Just wanted to update everyone on this. I did take my cat to the vet, and she checked out fine. I switched their food the the Natural Choice dry food for indoor cats about 2 weeks ago, and she has not gotten sick since. So maybe it was an ingredient in the regular food that was not agreeing with her...

Re: Wet food vs. Dry food
Thanks for both of the responses. I actually have an appointment for her tomorrow with a new vet (we recently moved so I had to find a new vet anyway). I originally thought that maybe it was expired food, but starting a new bag didn't help. Plus, our other cat has never gotten sick in the 2 years th...

Wet food vs. Dry food
Hi, new here with a question. My previous vet reccommended that I switch my cats from dry food to wet food because they were starting to discover that dry food had additives that cats are unable to break down, and it could be causing damamge to the cats (i.e. kidney failure). We got on this topic be...
