I've heard the suggestion to use *beep* wax (the stuff surfers put on their boards), which keeps the clumps from sticking to the box. Never actually tried it, and I don't know if there's anything in the wax that might be harmful to the cats. But I thought I'd throw it out there in case anybody else ...
