Re: Cat recovering from being hit by car

I think the best advice is to be patient, follow the vet's orders, and call the vet with any questions. My cat was injured (they weren't sure if it was from a car, a fall, or a fight) and came home with a broken pelvis and some head injuries... it was about 2 months before he was fully recovered and...

Re: Cat selectively uses litterbox! Help!

i think talking to the vet is a good first step. it is probably a stress thing tho, the bf's brother treating her like that may have made things worse, and even tho she likes your bf at times, she may be afraid of him, especially if other men have abused her. you should talk to him to be sure he is ...

i hope all cat owners and potential cat owners read this post - not just for the warning about the grass, but for the note about the cost involved. i don't know anyone with a cat who has not had at least one occasion of it needing medical attention, and almost ALWAYS this costs over $1000. "A c...

cat asthma

bf's roommate's cat (you may remember, he was having some potty issues, and i was concerned about the level of care roommate was providing) has been better with the potty issues but a new and way more serious problem has come up. since earlier this summer it seems the cat has developed asthma. roomm...

Re: fleas and humans

hi, i will look into this & ask them what the vet said, i am not sure what to make of all this as my cat wore a flea collar for all of his 14 years so i'm not sure what this is all about? but i will definitely follow-up on it as the cat's owner is pretty lazy and i have tried to be the responsib...

Re: fleas and humans

well after some debate within the house (bf, roommate and his gf not convinced it was flea bites) i started thinking maybe this was something else, it started getting better, but now suddenly it is awful, covering my legs, my ankles are swollen, it's just a nightmare. found some flea-bite pictures o...

Re: Very Scared Cat

yeah i would keep her in a small space at first until she gets used to it. my uncle's cat was terrified when they first got him, he would sit at the bottom of the steps cowering. i would sit on the top step one nite for a while. then the next day move a little closer. then one nite i sat a few feet ...

Re: Cat will not sit down - help/advise please......

any time you are concerned that your pet has been injured, you MUST GET THEM TO THE VET. he is the only one who can find out what the problem is. it sounds like it could be an injury, UTI, etc. go to the vet and make sure it is not something serious.
