Re: Tommy has diabetes
Hi Ash, Sorry to hear about your cat's health problems. I just wanted to offer sympathy and say I can totally relate to your frustration with the vet situation. If you have someone who is at least compassionate, then you're luckier than I was. I would hesitate to change, because as you said, most th...

Re: This will sound dumb but.........
Some vets, if you explain your financial situation, will agree to perform spaying at a reduced cost. Most vets take credit cards, although I'm not encouraging overspending on plastic. Otherwise, your friend could try to work out some kind of a payment plan with the vet, with some money down and an a...

Re: cat not eating...
Re: her picture. This is the thing. She was an all-black cat with green eyes and so it was always difficult to get a good picture of her because the camera would always turn her into a big black blob with glowing eyes...not all that flattering. I may have one on my camera that I took a few weeks ago...

Re: cat not eating...
Hi, no it's not the first time i've lost a pet. I've had two dogs that have also died, one at an old age and one quite young. I wish she hadn't suffered, but I think that is part of what is hard right now is that I know she did suffer, at least for the last 2 days. I almost wish I hadn't brought her...

Re: cat not eating...
Hi Ash, I am pretty lousy, actually, but that's to be expected. I've been cleaning the house, which is a sure sign that I'm depressed. I get into cleaning frenzies when I'm upset. I haven't written to my family yet because they are dealing with a human death in the family right now and I didn't feel...

Re: cat not eating...
Hi. Thanks Ash for the info. Traci, the traditional way to dispose of a body in the hindu faith is to burn it on a funeral pyre at the riverside. The ashes are then disposed of in the river. Most rivers (if not all) in India are considered forms of goddesses, as well as purifying forces, ie, sacred....

Re: cat not eating...
Hello, yes, thanks. I appreciate all your thoughts and blessings. I am now in the unfortunate position of having to figure out how to take care of the body. I've already called the vet and another friend of mine here, hoping that I would be able to cremate her, but they have both said there are no s...

Re: cat not eating...
Hello Ash and Traci, Thanks again for all of your help and good words and thoughts. I wish I'd found this site BEFORE I came to India. I have a feeling I would have made different choices. As of this evening, she's passed away, at home, with us. She was really miserable and honestly, I don't think t...

Re: cat not eating...
Ash, thanks for your words of encouragement...I dont' have a lot of it right now. I've found a vet clinic closer to my house, which hopefully will reduce the stress on both myself and my cat. The other vet is not very communicative and doesn't give full answers to questions (I also have a problem wi...

Re: cat not eating...
Hi Traci, thanks for more details. I am still awaiting the test results, but as you can see from my last post, I think things are pretty severe. I am not sure what they have available here in terms of surgical facilities and the kind of food you are describing or if that prcedure can be done here. I...
