Re: Diarrhea doesn't stop
Yes, Traci on the 13th on page 2 I wrote that e coli and salmonella was found. Yesterday her stool was formed, so we're getting somewhere at last. Today she is very well, she's eating and drinking and behaves very normal. I just hope it stays that way! If not we will retest the stool and do the bloo...

He's going by the stool cultures we did last week (showed e coli and salmonella), which also tested the different antibiotics.he needs to be IDENTIFYING properly, the specific bacteria instead of choosing at will any antibiotic.

Ash, you need to ask why the vet has given TWO antibiotic injections, there shouldn't be any reason for TWO injections only a day or two apart No, this one is given every 24 hours. It's always done like this here with antibiotic injections. Antibiotic shots that last 3 days are not known here, for ...

Heart defect - no meds neccessary?
I'm asking this for a German aquaintance of mine. She has a 1 year/3 months old male cat. She noticed while playing he would pant quickly so went to her vet a few days ago. The examination showed a fast heart beat. An ultrasound of the heart was performed and the finding was that the main valve is t...

Re: Diarrhea doesn't stop
Ok, no vitamin injection. I actually have a vitamin paste here which my mum sent from Germany, name is Gimpet. I have no idea where the eggs are from, these kind of things are not well documented here. Same with the Whiskas. I decided not to give her Whiskas at all from now on. When she eats chicken...

Re: Diarrhea doesn't stop
I think it was cefotaxime, but I don't know how much he gave. He did weigh her first (4kg) and looked the dosage up in a book or something. He said he also injected something to stop the diarrhea, but I don't know what that was. She does have slightly dilated pupils and I mentioned it to the vet whe...

Re: Diarrhea doesn't stop
Vets usually don't have any assistants here to help treating animals. That's all done by the owners (except in surgery when he gets a second vet in). We held her with two people, I and my husband, and still she wriggles and gets very very stressed out, screams etc. It's the middle of the night and I...
