Re: acute peritonitis and death
I am sorry you lost your sweet girl so tragically. Our dogs love and trust us unconditionally and we feel 100% reponsible for their well being. Unfortunately, they can't tell us where they are hurting and cover up their pain and weakness to please us. When we figure out that something is wrong, we t...

Re: Athena went to the vet
Athena weighs about 50 pounds. This is small to me. Magnum never did any reverse sneezing, so when Athena did it for the first time it was frightening. She appeared to be struggliung to breath, which wasn't the case at all. She is just as fit as a fiddle. very sweet, too.

Athena went to the vet
Athena does not have Bortedella. She has reverse sneezing. It sure was scarey since I've never seen it before. While we were there she was tested for heartworm, erlychiosis, and Lyme disease and given her six month shot for heartworm prevention. She was very sweet about standing still and letting th...

Re: Athena is coughing/wheezing after boarding
Athena is 4 years old. She is very healthy and runs free on the golf course every day. She presently seems fine, except I observed this wierd wheeze type symptom one time and my husband said she was "sneezing" for about two weeksafter he brought her home from the pet resort. It seems that ...

Re: Athena is coughing/wheezing after boarding
Athena will see the vet tomorrow. She would have gone sooner but I wasn't home when the worst of this strange wheezing was going on. She must be on the mend since she didn't do it for the first week I have been home. I really scares her. it scares me, too. The first sign that Magnum was ill was resp...

Re: Getting enough exercise won't be possible
Those long leashes with the recoil button don't work right. We have recentry gone through four of them. There is very little traffic where we live, so I can hear a car coming from far away and get Athena close to me. I have to work on "come" with her. She is mostly Queensland Heeler with a...

Getting enough exercise won't be possible
Athena can no longer be trusted off leash. One the golf course or drainage ditch she used to run back and forth and keep me in sight as she she kept up with my progression forward. Now she has become bolder and runs completely off the golf course or ditch and crosses streets. The is very dangerous. ...

Re: February
Beautiful, jdf. I will miss your monthly poems. Somehow, it would be nice if you keep posting things about Roxy. The seventh of next month marks the fourth year since I first knew Magnum was not long for this earth. He lived exactly six more months, against all odds. I held him close and did everyth...

Re: Real hard time
Sasha is beautiful. I've been looking at German Shepherds lately. My first dog, Achilles, was a German Shepherd. The straight up ears are great. Hope you have a long, happy life together.
