Since she really prefers certain locations to pee and poop, have you tried putting extra litter boxes in those locations? Maybe it is the location she likes and it has nothing to do with litter type, etc. At minimum, it might make things easier on you. If it works she will get used to going in the b...

I had the same problem. Squirrel is overweight and on a diet. But Schnitz is not overweight and gets to free feed as much as he wants. One of the reasons Squirrel got overweight is she was she was eating her portion and Schnitz's too. The other reason is she was a stray and she behaves like yours - ...

Place a bird feeder outside a window where he can watch. It's like cable TV for felines. It will keep them interested for hours. My two jockey for the best viewing positions. It does take a while for the birds to find a new feeder so be patient. They will eventually find the food. And even if squirr...

Static Guard Spray?

Is Static Guard spray harmful to cats? This dry winter has given Squirrel a bad case of electric fur. I pet her and get Crackle Crackle Crackle so she has started moving away when I try to pet her. Static Guard sprayed on my brush before I brush my hair works great for me. But I don't groom my hair ...

Re: Moving to a new apartment

Since you have not had any litterbox problems up to now, you may not have any problems after the move. My cats go to a catsitter (many times a different cat sitter each time) a couple times a year while I am out of town. I use this technique and I have never heard of any accidents. Set up the litter...

While I was looking for spaying information in the internet a while back I saw a mention of a feline birth control drug like you mentioned that is available only in Europe. Sorry I don;t remember where I saw this information. So maybe that is what your neighbor was thinking of ... But I doubt that t...

Rubbermaid makes a couple nice ones that have high sides and a U shaped entrance cut down lower so they can get in easier. The one I have has sides about 6" high which helped a lot. They also have one with 12-15" sides for the really enthusiastic bulldozers. If you do not have a cordless r...

Re: Mother cat attacking kitten

I too had a mother cat spayed while the kittens 8 weeks old and all 4 still with her. She was grumpy coming home from the vet. But she returned to normal after about 24 hours. She even let the babies suckle for a few more weeks. Mostly for comfort nursing because they were all eating kitten chow for...

Re: Kittens are now 5 weeks.. can we get rid of them now?

I bet there is a spot that you have not found that is causing the poop smell. My kittens found a old blanket under a couch they were using to poop in sometimes. I had been looking for the source of the faint smell for a couple weeks before I found it. It took crawling around on the floor with a flas...

Re: Kittens are now 5 weeks.. can we get rid of them now?

The babies are too young to be separated from their mom. They should stay with her for 12 weeks. In that time they will learn proper feline manners and gain socialization skills. Kittiens that are separated from their mom and littermates too early can develop behavior problems that last for the rest...
