Re: Acute Renal Failure-FIP

Holly had an ultrasound today and the results are very bad. Her kidneys are HUGE (4-4.5 cm), polcystic and the cortex is inflamed. They supsect FIP or cancer. She is only 1.5 and they told me that even if they continue with fluid therapy and she seems to do better, she will not live to her 2nd birth...

Acute Renal Failure-FIP

My black polydactyl cat, Holly, who is only 1.5 yrs. old, is in acute kidney failure. She is at the vet now being rehydrated. I will be there first thing tomorrow and decide if I should bring her to the St. Hyacinthe Animal Hospital. Holly has had a tough life. Her siblings died in the cage at my ve...

Re: Ferals with Worms ...ICK!

Tambrey, My first experience with worms was when I took in my first semi-feral a year ago. He vomited under my bed (of course during the night, it's always during the night). When I went to clean up the pile, well, it moved. Needless to say, I grabbed the Lysol (which I don't usually have because I ...

Re: Trying to make that decision or not

I just read the posts after being offline for a while. I was so touched by Mini's story. I am so so sorry for your loss. Power to you for taking in the "unadoptables." As everyone on this site knows, they will give you so much love and gratitude in return. Bless you.

What about Feline Hyperesthesia?

Maybe you could pass on this info to your cats' new caregivers.

Re: How to Wrap a Present with Kitties in the House

Hysterical!! That pretty much sums it up. My Manx Harry actually puts his paw on the paper and holds it down for me so that I can cut it properly. He's a great helper, when he's not IN the box, sleeping. He'll fall asleep anywhere. My boyfriend went to the can a few weeks ago and went to pull up his...

Re: Newborn Kitten-I have no $ for vet

Just a note to let you know that I think that you are a great person. You are willing to sell your CD's for a little one. You have restored my faith in humankind.

Pls. let me know how the little one is doing. I have nursed newborn kittens and may be able to offer some advice (harryis21@yahoo.com).

Re: Ringworm in multicat household

I feel for you. I have twenty cats (some mine, some rescues up for adoption) and most of them have caught ringworm, including me, from a kitten I brought in from a house in which the woman kept 80-100 cats. When I brought my most severely affected kittens in last night, my vet NEVER once suggested e...

Re: Gremlin & Yoda at 13 weeks

Tambrey, I too have two orange tabby sisters who are really different in size. Maggie is the size of a normal 3 month-old. Her sister Hanna, who was obviously the runt of the two, is only half her size. She still "nurses" off of the saucer when I give her canned food (actually she won't ea...
