Swollen Anal gland.
Poor Ozzy, he is my 4yr old Bassett Hound. I believe that he has an impacted anal gland. Or at least I think so. The area around his anus is somewhat swollen. He is quite lethargic today and hasn't really eaten much. He did drink water fine today. I have call into my vet and believe that I will get ...

Re: i know this is an old topic but i need to vent..
I am not sure if she is upset about the baby, she may be. I truly believe that all the other times are related to stress, actually the last time when she peed on my step-kids clothes and bed, we had moved a lot of furniture to make room for the baby. What kind of solution is there with such a sensit...

Re: i know this is an old topic but i need to vent..
My baby is almost three months, and she actually doesn't cry that much (yes, i am very lucky). Sabrina kind of ignores the baby, she doesn't seem that interested at all. The other two cats, Daisy and Meatball, seem more interested and will sniff the baby etc. I recently quit my job to stay at home a...

Re: i know this is an old topic but i need to vent..
We have three litter boxes in a quiet private area that are cleaned daily. She has recently been checked for UTI during her visit to the vet and she doesn't have it, neither do my other two cats. We used a spray that was suppose to calm cats, Feliway?? I think, but I am not sure. I have been trying ...

i know this is an old topic but i need to vent..
I have three cats, one dog and a new baby girl. One of my cats ( I think it is Sabrina, my fav) has started peeing almost every where in the house. She pees on the sofas in the rec room, on the afghans in the living room and now she is peeing on my bed. We have had this problem before we had the bab...

new baby and bassett hound
I am due to have my first child in earily June. Yes, it does seem like awhile, but it will be here before I know it! I am concerned about my basset hound, Ozzy and how he will react. He is my baby and is the sweetest and cuddliest pet I have ever had. But he is a BIG baby and sometimes even gets jel...

Question about licking...
My Bassett, Ozzy, is about 10 months old. He has a tendancy when tired to lick the fabric that he is laying on, including my pants if he is on my lap (yes he does think he is a lap dog). I was just wondering if this is suckiling behavior, that maybe he wasn't weened properly. I often find large slob...

ear infections
Poor Ozzy, my Basset Puppy has an ear infection, I can tell by his discomfort and the odor, but my vet can't get me in to the office until tommarrow at 4:00pm. Just wondering if there is anything that I can do to make him more comfortable, or if this warrents an emergency visit to the emergency vet ...

Housebreaking question
My 7 month old puppy, Ozzy, a basset is the love of my life. But, I have been struggling with housebreaking issues. He can sleep all night without waking me up to go out. Also when we are home he goes to the door to be let out. But, when he is home alone, even for an hour he pees on the floor. I thi...
