Re: Cat Bites for no Apparent Reason

Thanks for the replies. Yes he is an only pet. I can't handle another cat...my house is just too small, and PJ poops enough for 2 cats as it is...I can't imagine cleaning twice as much. I'm also hesitant to get another cause of PJ's herpes. I don't wanna risk him speading it to the new cat. I don't ...

Re: Cat Bites for no Apparent Reason

I've tried that...and he does stay away from me for a while, but then it happens again.
PJ usually runs away after biting me cause I think he knows I'm mad as soon as it happens.

Cat Bites for no Apparent Reason

I was wondering if anyone knew any reasons why a cat would bite their owner without provocation. PJ used to be more high strung as a kitten and would get playful and not realize how hard he was biting when when he would nibble as cats do. He's calmed down A LOT, but from time to time I'll be petting...

Re: i think one of my new kittens has an eye infection

I have two cats with the Herpes virus. It can be passed from mother to kitten. In my cats, it was manifested by a cloudy spot (ulcer) on the eyeball. One of my cats also had respiratory problems (runny nose, sneezing, etc) May want to have your kitty checked for this. Though your kitten may have so...

Re: Cat doesn't Bury his poop.

Well, a couple simple things to try: 1) if using clumping, try using clay litter instead, or vice versa 2) if using scented litter, try using unscented instead 3) I believe petsmart has various sizes of litterboxes, I in fact have a very tiny one for one of my cats, so if you were to use two tiny o...

Cat doesn't Bury his poop.

Ok my cat is weird.
He uses his litterbox like a good boy, but he doesn't bury his feces when he's done. The whole downstairs REEKS and sometimes we can smell it upstairs after he goes to the bathroom.

Is there any way to train him to start burying his poop??

Re: Update: It's Official...PJ has Herpes

oh wow! I didn't know that he coulda been born with it. I suspected he might have come in contact with it at the humane society before I got him or from before they got him. That would explain how he has it despite the fact that I am religious about keeping up with his vaccinations. I will ask the v...

Update: It's Official...PJ has Herpes

Well I got the results of PJ's blood work in. For those who didn't see my update in my last thread, I took PJ for a second opinion on his eye. I went to an Opthomoligist this time (last week). He said PJ doesn't need surgery, but thought he might have Herpes. They drew blood and I got the results to...

Re: Kitty has a torn Cornia

Ok update on PJ. I took him for a second opinion today to a veternary Opthomologist. I think the first guy I took him to wasn't as the pets before me were not there for their eyes. The dr I went to today is all about eyes, and even has a student from LA working with him. Anyways I was told that PJ, ...
